Forsta brought Confirmit, FocusVision and Decipher together into a strong research suite. Since Qualtrics completed the acquisition in May 2026, its direction is no longer its own. Crowdtech offers an independent, European alternative with survey, panel and community in one platform.
Forsta's product direction is now controlled by Qualtrics. FocusVision was absorbed into Confirmit. Confirmit became Forsta. The pattern is clear: acquired platforms are folded into the parent. Forrester now cites 'roadmap independence' as a formal evaluation criterion.
Forsta operates a multi-suite structure. Each capability requires custom quoting. Implementation cycles run months, not weeks, involving dedicated project teams and extensive configuration.
G2 reviewers cite a cumbersome interface and difficulty modifying pre-built questions. Forsta scores 4.2/5 on G2, below most competitors. The interface may change further as Qualtrics integrates the platform.
Forsta hosts data in Europe today, for example Decipher in Ireland. But where your data is stored is only half the question. Since May 2026 Forsta has been part of Qualtrics, a US company, and under the US CLOUD Act American authorities can demand data from US companies and the businesses they control, wherever it is stored. Crowdtech is a Dutch company with its own servers in Amsterdam, so your respondent data stays out of US reach.
| Feature | Crowdtech | Forsta (now Qualtrics) |
|---|---|---|
| Independence | Independent, Netherlands-based | Acquired by Qualtrics (US), May 2026 |
| Data hosting | EU-only (Amsterdam, own Equinix servers) | EU hosting available (e.g. Ireland); US parent, subject to the CLOUD Act |
| Platform roadmap | Independent, customer-driven | Controlled by Qualtrics |
| Implementation | Days to weeks | Months (complex suite structure) |
| Pricing | Transparent annual volume tiers | Custom quotes, complex licensing |
| Survey + Panel + Community | One integrated platform | Separate tools from separate acquisitions |
| ISO 27001 + 27701 | Yes (DEKRA audited) | ISO 27001; varies post-acquisition |
| DORA compliance | Contractual quarterly reporting | Not available |
| GDPR approach | By design (EU-native) | EU hosting options; US ownership brings CLOUD Act exposure |
No US parent company, no roadmap controlled by Silicon Valley. Your data stays in Amsterdam on our own Equinix servers. US jurisdiction never applies.
Forsta was Confirmit + FocusVision + Decipher. Crowdtech built survey, panel, and community from the ground up as one system. One database, one login.
Built inside MWM2, a research agency with 20+ years of expertise. Randomisation, piping, quota management, and significance testing built because researchers needed them.
Quarterly reporting on uptime, incidents, and response times as a contractual commitment. Embedded in the service agreement.
Annual volume-based licensing. No multi-suite pricing. No per-response billing. You know what you are paying before you sign.
The acquisition creates uncertainty about pricing and data handling for every client relationship. Crowdtech's agency model gives each client their own branded workspace under one licence.
Now that Qualtrics owns the platform, your compliance assessment has to cover US ownership as well as where the data is stored. Crowdtech's EU-only hosting, dual ISO, and DORA reporting mean shorter procurement cycles.
Surveys, panels, and communities in one platform. No suite-switching, no reconciling respondent data across systems. And your roadmap is not subject to a $6.75 billion acquisition.
Clients include Heineken, Philips, Coca-Cola, and DPG Media. Founded in 2012 as the technology division of MWM2, a research agency with over 20 years of experience.
